‘RO machine’ is short for Reverse Osmosis, taking the first two letters of the English words. The full name is Reverse Osmosis Water Purifier. In Taiwan, we call it ‘reverse osmosis’, while in mainland China, it’s called ‘fǎn shèntòu.
